Inside Bainbridge presents the latest episode of “Two Teens and a Movie,” a video movie review featuring Bainbridge Islanders Korey (16, high school Sophomore) and Kolin (14, 8th grader). They review movies now in theaters from two teens’ point-of-view. Whenever the film contains a potential concern to parent, they share their take on the film’s age-appropriate content. Here is their video movie review of the film “The Three Stooges,” directed by the Farrelly Brothers, starring Sean Hayes, Will Sasso and Chris Diamantopoulos. Rated PG ( 1 Hour, 32 Minutes) and now showing at Bainbridge Cinemas at the Pavilion.

Summary: Abandoned in bag and thrown on the doorsteps of an orphanage run by nuns, Moe, Larry and Curly were never adopted. And it’s no wonder – they were wise-guys even in their youth. Now it is 25 years later and the Stooges are still living at the orphanage as helpers. They learn that their childhood home will be closed down in just 30 days unless they raise nearly $1 million. These nitwits end up in a murder for hire plot to save the orphanage. Think mayhem and chaos and you’ll get today’s Three Stooges, complete with realty TV’s Snooki and the Situation in cameo roles. Not kidding.

Parental Caution: Common Sense Media recommends this film for children 8+ and older due to the slapstick violence and some sexual innuendo.

Rotten Tomatoes (as of 4/18/12): While critics loathed The Three Stooges giving it a 44 percent, audiences gave it a 71 percent.

IMDB (as of 4/18/12): Gives it an 5.4 out of a 10-star rating.

Entertainment Weekly: A-

Run-Pee (Smartphone App): Not available, but we recommend you take a quick break just as the boys are deciding they need to raise the money to save the orphanage.

Credits Bonus: Before the final credits roll and just after the first scene, there is a public service announcement telling children that all slapstick and props were fake. The Farrelly Brothers demonstrate fake eye gouges and show how the sledgehammer and hammers were made out of rubber. They caution kids that hitting people is just wrong and trying any of the stunts in the movie would cause injuries.
